Summary

1. Introduction (first half of the 1st meeting). Some of the topics we will cover are:

  • Adobe Photoshop®  overview
  • Adobe Camera Raw® converter
  • Layers & Masks
  • Keyboard Shortcuts
  • Color
  • Contrast
  • Perspective correction, objects removal, etc.
  • Miscellaneous effects
  • Print preparation

2. Practice - For the rest of the workshop, we will be looking at the editing process used in some of the photos from The Obvious, as well as processing some of your own photos. In order for us to use your photos, they have to be perfectly sharp at 100% magnification and relatively well exposed.

Requirements

  1. Bring a computer/laptop with Adobe Photoshop CS3, 4, or 5 installed. If you do not own Photoshop, please email us for a link to the trial download. We recommend that you wait until the week of our class to install the trial software, that way you have extra time after the workshop to get familiar with the software and decide whether you will buy it or not.
  2. Bring your favorite finger food. We will take a half an hour break around 7:30 for refreshments.
  3. Show up both times for the full length of the workshop. Since this is our first workshop, we decided to make it free in exchange for your feedback.
  4. We will move at a relatively fast pace through all the material. If you are familiar with computers and consider yourself a fast learner, this workshop will be very beneficial to you. If not, you may want to wait and sign up for one of our future Photoshop Overview workshops.
